Polypropylene Spunbond Nonwoven Fabrics
PP Spunbond nonwoven fabrics contain continuous fibres that are spun and dispersed directly in a web-like deflector. This leads to quicker belt speed. These fabrics are made into a web or sheet structure attached by some filaments or entangled fibers with the help of chemical or thermal treatment. Nonwoven polypropylene fabrics are thermoplastic polymer much like Polypropylene or PP, but, the only difference is that they appear as nom-woven. This fabric is widely used in fashion and healthcare industry for making filters, masks, healthcare coveralls, interlining, non-woven bags and so on.
Waterproof Feature of Polypropylene Spunbond Nonwoven Fabrics
Polypropylene Nonwoven Spunbond fabrics have good flexibility and water-resistant quality. Some waterproof traits of this fabric are –
- This fabric has three layered structure.
- It has a waterproof layer with high branching ratio and low-density polyethylene.
- The fabric is also resistant to low temperature.
- Surface of non-woven fabric is made of PP polyester. It can resolve the problem of cement bonding and composite materials.
Is nonwoven fabric recyclable or bio-degradable? Well, it depends on the variety of nonwoven fiber. Spunbond Polypropylene fabrics mostly are not biodegradable though Spunbond is produced from biodegradable fibers. However, Spunbond polypropylene fabrics are environment-friendly as compared to plastic products.
